Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Family Radar is a mobile application for real-time family location sharing, developed and maintained by Paweł Gajda (pawegio@gmail.com). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Location data (GPS): Precise location coordinates are collected in the background while the app is running and shared with your family group in real time. Location history is stored to power the Timeline feature.
• Account data: Email address and password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication) when you create a registered account. Anonymous accounts are created automatically and require no personal information.
• Profile data: Display name and profile photo that you optionally provide.
• Device token (FCM): A Firebase Cloud Messaging token used to send push notifications to your device.
• Crash and diagnostic reports: Anonymised crash logs collected via Firebase Crashlytics to help us improve app stability.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect to:

• Display your real-time location on the family map for members of your family group.
• Send push notifications when family members arrive at or leave saved places.
• Store location history for the Timeline feature (Pro plan).
• Authenticate your identity and secure your account.
• Diagnose and fix technical issues in the app.
• Process subscription payments via RevenueCat.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following service providers, strictly to operate the app:

• Google Firebase (Firebase Auth, Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Storage) — cloud backend and infrastructure.
• RevenueCat — subscription and in-app purchase management. RevenueCat receives a pseudonymous user identifier and purchase data.

Your location is shared only with members of your family group within the app. It is never shared with third parties for advertising or analytics.

5. Data Retention

Location history entries are retained for 30 days. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account, which permanently removes all your personal data. Crash logs are retained for up to 90 days.

6. Children's Privacy

Family Radar is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at pawegio@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can:

• Update your profile name and photo within the app.
• Delete your account (and all associated data) via Settings → Delete Account.
• Contact us at pawegio@gmail.com to request a copy of your data or exercise any other data rights.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Security

All data is transmitted over TLS (HTTPS). Data is encrypted by Firebase's infrastructure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
